Hello Port Warwick residents.  I am Rich Shermer, and I have taken over as the UPA representative to your PW Conservancy.  I am very proud and pleased to have been selected to manage Port Warwick.  I hope to meet each of you soon, and am always available to help answer your questions and concerns.  My office is in the Conservancy building (191 Walt Whitman) and my office phone is 926-5500.  I can also be reached via email at rshermer@unitedproperty.org.

I was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  After graduating from Susquehanna University, I developed extensive management and leadership experience during a decade-long career in the banking industry in Philadelphia.  Desiring a career that allowed more time with my new family, I transitioned into Higher Education Administration by joining the Alumni Relations and Development unit at my alma mater, where I led the Systems Management and Annual Giving groups.

I moved my family to Suffolk, Virginia in 1996 to join The College of William and Mary's Mason School of Business.  As the Alumni Director at the Mason School, I helped develop alumni relationships that were crucial to building the new business school building, Alan B. Miller Hall, in the first public-private partnership in the history of the College.

Having closed my career in Higher Education, I wanted to return to UPA, where I had worked briefly nearly ten years ago.  At that time, I served as the site manager for the Harbour View Owners Association in northern Suffolk, one of the largest communities UPA manages.  I am confident that I can leverage my experience to serve capably the Port Warwick community and I look forward to working with you all.
