Alert
There is a person of interest that all residents need to
be aware of. A silver Mazda license
number XXM 8642 with a male driver has been observed parking for extended
periods of time, even overnight, around Styron Square. He spent three and a half weeks in front of
the Portside Pharmacy and Arbors and the 4th of July weekend he
was observed parked across from the Starving Artist shop on the back side of Styron Square. At present he has moved back to the area
around the Styron Square
in front of the Arbors and Portside Pharmacy. Currently he only sits in his car playing games
or listening to an iPod. The police
have been contacted several times and have spoken to the individual however
the complaints are only coming from only a few people and merchants at
present.
Since we don’t know who this individual is or why he
is spending so much time around Styron
Square an extra bit of caution seems
necessary. Parents should take
additional precautions especially with younger children and we ask all
residents and merchants in the Melville to lock the access gates to the
parking lot when entering and exiting. Please keep the street side trash room
doors closed and locked. Your help and
cooperation is appreciated in keeping the Melville safe and secure.
For anyone desiring to file a report about this individual
the two patrol officers for this area are:
Officer Parker Office phone 926-4770
and
Officer Weatherly Office
phone 962-4714
